I’ve always admired the ability to apply one cloudless label to oneself: lawyer, mother, drifter, doctor. Summarizing an entire existence into one unambiguous title must feel like the warmth emanating from your dog laying on a soft bed, soaking in the early morning sunlight. Pure, unadulterated joy.
However, for those of us not thusly blessed, it’s so very awkward to try and define oneself – and yet, in the age of constant self-promotion, it has become quite the necessity.
I am a deep thinker, a writer, a communication strategist – but also a hiker, a true hater of snow, an adorer of New York, and a transcendent Italian cook.
I started writing short stories early in life, and that passion for creating content has never ceased, eventually morphing into a communications and freelancing career.
I’ve worked in communications my whole career – even when I left everything behind to build a food-tech start-up; I was still creating content for marketing, PR, and communications. Just on top of everything else.
I am creative, honest, hard-working, and value openness and collaboration – and most of all, I excel at simplifying complex challenges into actionable plans.
I thoroughly despise not being able to properly communicate with people – and that’s why I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian, I can translate from Latin and Ancient Greek, and I am trying my best to become conversational in Turkish and French.
This website is simply a collection of some of my non-work-related writings – so if you are reading this because you might want to hire me to write for you, these are not the examples I would go by. If you do want to see some actual writing samples, or get an idea of what I can create for your communications strategy, do send me an email: me -at- martaantonelli.com
In closing: smash the patriarchy, salted butter is better than regular, cats are pointless, coffee forever, to thine own self be true, and always, always remember to floss.
